The STOR, Société des Téléphériques d’Orelle, is a French société anonyme with a Management and Supervisory Board, created at the end of 1995, operator of the ski lifts and slopes on the Commune of Orelle.
It is a subsidiary of SETAM, operator of the Val Thorens ski lifts.
The STOR includes the ski lifts and slope service on the Maurienne side of the Val Thorens ski domain, i.e.:
-the Orelle telecabin (the longest telecabin in the world, 5 km in a single section) opened in January 1996,
- the Rosaël chair lift opened in February 1998,
- the Le Peyron and Le Bouchet chair lifts (highest point in Les 3 Vallées: 3230 m) installed in 2001.
The passes sold at the ticket offices are the same as those sold in Val Thorens and at the same price, be it for passes for Val Thorens, Vallée des Belleville or Les 3 Vallées.
Orelle is the fastest way to get to the slopes of Val Thorens (the highest resort in Europe), with the wide open spaces of the Vallée des Belleville or the 600 km of slopes in Les 3 Vallées.
Accessible directly from the motorway, we are less than one hour from Chambéry, one hour from Grenoble or Turin and less than two hours from Lyon. You don’t need any special equipment (unless in exceptional circumstances) and you can avail of the ultra-efficient infrastructures of the Alpine motorways.
Parking is free at the telecabin terminal. In the reception area, you will find a ski hire shop, a French ski school, a bar, an information point and the ticket offices for the ski lifts.
Since 2005, like all operators in Les 3 Vallées, STOR is equipped with the “Hands Free” system which detects and checks your pass automatically when you are at the start of each ski lift.
This enhancement has enabled us:
To create a pass for 6 non-consecutive days ORELLE – VAL THORENS (on sale only at the Orelle ticket offices)
To offer our customers an on-line sales system
